Carroll County Jail Roster
The public Carroll County Jail Population Report is the main county custody lookup. It is linked from the Sheriff's Office jail population page and shows current inmates, 24-hour arrests, and inmates by arrest date. The sheriff is the county's chief jailer, and the county jail is the Jack T. Bell Detention Center. The Sheriff's site identifies Terry Langley as sheriff and gives the sheriff and jail main phone as 770-830-5888.
Roster entries are booking records. They can show charge rows and warrant numbers, but they are not the complete criminal court file. Formal court charges, pleas, hearings, sentencing, and disposition live in court records maintained by the Clerk of Superior and State Courts or the relevant court. For the custody-to-charge path, the Carroll County arrest records and charges page gives more detail.
The Sheriff's jail population page is the manifest source for the local roster channel.
That sheriff page points users to the roster report and describes the basic record fields available from the jail population report.
Use the Carroll County Roster
The roster can be browsed or filtered by name. One inspected roster view showed hundreds of current bookings with pagination, which means a name filter is useful when the spelling is known. Use all spelling variants when a name may have a hyphen, middle name, suffix, or alternate spelling.
- Open the Carroll County Jail Population Report.
- Choose Current Inmates, 24 Hours Arrests, or Inmates by Arrest Date, depending on the search goal.
- Use the optional inmate-name filter if the roster has too many pages to browse.
- Review the booking row for name, status, sex, height, weight, arrest date, agency, days in jail, and total bond.
- Read the charge table for warrant number, counts, statute, description, misdemeanor or felony marker, and court.
- Contact the Sheriff's Office open-records channel for sheriff-held booking or incident records not visible on the public roster.
The Jail Population Report itself was not one of the successful inmate images, but it is the operational lookup described by the research.
Carroll County Inmate Search Fields
The jail roster search tools are simpler than a court case portal. The roster uses tabs and an optional name filter rather than a full case-search form. The visible controls documented in the research are listed below.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Options / Format Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Current Inmates | Tab/link | Optional | Shows currently booked inmates. |
| 24 Hours Arrests | Tab/link | Optional | Shows recent arrests in a 24-hour view. |
| Inmates by Arrest Date | Tab/link | Optional | Sorts or groups inmates by arrest date. |
| Filter By Inmate Name (Optional) | Text | No | Name filter; captured text did not state a minimum character count. |
| Search Inmates | Button | No | Runs the name filter. |
| Pagination | Page controls | Not applicable | Shows page numbers, previous/next controls, and total item count. |
Carroll County Inmate Profile Fields
A public roster row can provide enough detail to identify a current custody record, but it does not prove the final case result. Charges can be amended, dismissed, indicted, accused, or resolved later in Superior Court, State Court, Magistrate Court, or a municipal court. Treat the roster as a booking source and verify court outcomes in the court file.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Mugshot/image area | A photo box or image area before the inmate record. |
| Name | Name shown in last-name, first-name, middle-name format. |
| Status | Custody status, such as currently booked. |
| Sex, height, weight | Basic physical descriptors from the booking record. |
| Address | Address was shown as redacted in inspected entries. |
| Arrest date and agency | Date of arrest and the arresting agency, such as Carroll County SO, Carrollton PD, Villa Rica PD, or GSP Villa Rica. |
| Days in jail | Number of days held on the current booking. |
| Total bond | Bond amount or status, including examples such as not set or denied. |
| Charge table | Warrant number, count, statute, description, felony/misdemeanor marker, and court. |
Carroll County Jail Facilities
Current county custody and sentenced state custody are not the same search. Carroll County Jail is the local booking and detention facility used for current jail roster records. Carroll County Correctional Institution is listed by the Georgia Department of Corrections as a county correctional institution serving adult male felons at medium security.

The Georgia DOC Carroll County Jail location page is one successful source image for county jail contact information.
GDC location pages help separate local jail contact data from statewide sentenced-offender searches.
The GDC Carroll County Correctional Institution page is the companion state-correctional facility source.
Use that page for the correctional institution, not for the county jail roster of new arrests and current bookings.
State Inmate and Registry Searches
State prison and registry searches are separate from Carroll County Jail. The Georgia Department of Corrections Find an Offender tool is for state offenders and sentenced custody. It should not be used as a substitute for the county roster when looking for a recent Carroll County arrest.
The GDC offender search page is one successful inmate-page image source.
GDC search can help after sentencing, while the county roster helps with current jail custody and recent arrests.
Sex-offender status is searched through the GBI public sex-offender registry. The Sheriff's local sex-offender page also names Sgt. Mike Lavoie as the local registration contact and says covered offenders must register with the Sheriff's Office within 72 hours after moving into Carroll County.
The GBI public sex-offender registry portal is another inmate-records manifest source.
A registry record is not a jail booking record, but it is a related public-safety channel documented for Carroll County searches.
Booking Process in Carroll County
After an arrest, the booking record can show the arresting agency, arrest date, total bond, charges, and days in jail. Arresting agencies observed in sample roster rows included Carroll County SO, Carrollton PD, Villa Rica PD, GSP Villa Rica, State University of West Georgia, and other local sources. One booking can list several charges and more than one court.
Bond status on the roster may say not set or denied. That is a custody status, not the final court result. A first appearance, bond hearing, preliminary hearing, accusation, indictment, plea, or sentence can occur later depending on the charge and court. Superior Court felony cases are prosecuted by the District Attorney, while State Court misdemeanors and traffic matters are prosecuted by the Solicitor-General.
Sheriff-held records that do not appear on the public jail roster can be requested through the Sheriff's Office open-records channel. The county Sheriff's open-records page directs requests by email or by calling 770-830-5916, and the sheriff site lists CCORT@carrollsheriffga.gov as the open-records email. That route is useful for incident reports, booking questions, or sheriff records not exposed in the public jail population report. City police records may use a different channel, such as Carrollton Police records requests or Villa Rica Police records requests.
Carrollton Police and Villa Rica Police both have official mobile app listings, but no app-only Carroll County inmate lookup was confirmed. The apps may support reports, tips, alerts, and records requests. Use the county jail roster for current custody, the Sheriff's open-records channel for sheriff-held records, and GDC for sentenced state custody.
Note: Address redaction on jail rows shows that public custody records can still withhold private or exempt information.
Carroll County Jail Visits
The Sheriff's FAQ confirms that visitors must register with the visitation officer in the jail lobby and remain in the lobby until the inmate's name is called. The captured online text did not post exact visitation days or times, and it refers visitors to the rules and schedule in the jail reception lobby. The jail is tobacco-free, and no items can be brought in for inmates.
| Topic | Official Detail Captured | Gap |
|---|---|---|
| Visitor registration | Register with the visitation officer in the jail lobby and wait until the inmate name is called. | Exact days and times were not posted in captured text. |
| Items | No items can be brought in for inmates; the jail is tobacco-free. | No full dress code was captured. |
| Use inmate full name and ID number; postcards are electronically delivered and destroyed. | No complete contraband list was captured. | |
| Commissary | InmateCanteen/team3 link supports accounts and communication services. | No price sheet was captured. |
| Phone | Securus quick link is listed for calling accounts. | No rate sheet was captured. |
Mail, Phone, and Commissary
Mail to the jail should use the inmate's full name and ID number, followed by Carroll County Jail, 1000 Newnan Road, Carrollton, Georgia 30116. The Sheriff's FAQ warns that postcards sent to that address are processed or electronically delivered and then destroyed, not returned. Family members should confirm current mail rules before sending anything valuable.
Commissary can be revoked, approved items only may be ordered, account credit is not allowed, and inmate-to-inmate transfers are not allowed. County quick links identify InmateCanteen for adding money to inmate accounts and purchasing internet packs, email, video visits, and texts. Securus is listed for opening or funding calling accounts.
The InmateCanteen account and communications portal is included in the successful image manifest for the inmate page.
Because prices were not captured in the research, no per-minute phone, video, or commissary fee is stated here.
